RESTORING ACCOUNTABILITY.EXPANDING CIVIC ENGAGEMENT.STRENGTHENING NEIGHBORHOODS.

I'm running for Spartanburg City Council, District 3 because residents deserve a government that is accountable to the people and NOT protected by gatekeepers, unnecessary bureaucracy, barriers or policies that discourage public participation.
For too long, District 3 has been neglected and left without REAL representation. We cannot continue allowing elected officials to run unopposed, operate in an echo chamber, and disrespect the voices of the citizens who live here.

Quality of Life

District 3 deserves safe, clean, and healthy neighborhoods. I support removing FAILED policies that present public health hazards, including the city's TNR ordinance.
Residents should NOT have to live with the consequences of bad policy decisions that prioritize special interests over public health and safety, property rights, and neighborhood quality of life.
I support giving Code Enforcement the tools it needs to improve our communities and address long-standing quality-of-life issues.

Civic Engagement

Local government should be accessible to everyone and NOT protected by gatekeepers, barriers, unnecessary bureaucracy, or policies that discourage public participation.
I will work to remove barriers for civic engagement by allowing residents to sign up to speak by email, by phone, by voice message, in-person and online, with NO arbitrary deadline.
I support increasing public comment time from 2 minutes to 3 minutes.
If I'm elected, I plan to provide bite sized recaps published online of each Spartanburg City Council Meeting to increase civic engagement.
Government should make it easier for residents to participate, NOT harder!

Time for Change

For too long, District 3 has been neglected and left without REAL representation. City Council should NOT be able to ignore its constituents.
Unopposed incumbents and limited public participation create an echo chamber that eliminates accountability.
District 3 deserves REAL leadership that encourages civic engagement.
The Spartanburg City Council should serve the people and NOT the other way around.
